The first thing to understand is that each of these terms is a mathematical expression. This formula is particularly useful when there are a number of factors that affect the average of the reactants.The base formula can be used to compute the average of several variables like the average diameter of the molecules, the average bond length, the average number of bond changes, the average cross section, and the average molecular weight. What does it mean in organic chemistry is just another way of expressing this same average equation. The average of all the reactants equals the average of all the reactants.
